CHANGES TO THE RESIDENTIAL TENANCIES ACT

 

REISA lobbies Labor Party

 

The State Government is seeking reform, issuing rolling changes to the Residential Tenancies Act 1995 & REISA is campaigning the SA Government to seek full visibility over these rolling reforms.

 

REISA has forwarded a comprehensive submission to the Government on the proposed Bill and opposed measures that they feel do not adequately balance the rights of landlords and tenants.

Liberal Party Correspondence to Private Landlords

 

The Liberal party of South Australia have recently written to a number of private landlords addressing their concerns regarding the proposed changes, including the introduction of new regulations governing pets in rental properties and banning no-fault terminations.

HOUSING AUSTRALIA FUTURE FUND

 

Following an extensive stalemate, the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) finally received its long- awaited parliamentary stamp of approval on 14 September.

 

Mr Albanese explained the legislation will “help deliver the government’s commitment of 30,000 new social and affordable rental homes in the fund’s first five years”.

 

This includes 4,000 dwellings set aside for women and children impacted by family and domestic violence, and older women at risk of homelessness.
